Goodbyes are always difficult. But saying goodbye to Amal is not like that because it gave me lessons that will always remain in my mind. And in that way, Amal will be always close to my heart.

The last session at Amal was different from the usual sessions on weekends. It was all about sharing the words of our hearts. Everyone has mixed feelings of sadness and leaving such an awesome batch of people. But I was sad because there will be no more weekend classes to wake me up early, hahaha! Because I was not an early bird before but now I have developed this habit. No that’s not all I was feeling, there is more I want to share.

Deep-down I was sad because there will be no more interactive sessions with positive people. But I knew the learnings from these people will be always present in my mind as the concept of mirroring, gratitude, teamwork, etc.

As you can see everyone is happy and excited in the picture. Ma’am Zarafshan asked us to do something unique for the picture so I choose the graduating cap and everyone mirrors my act. I was having a pen and paper in my hand so I immediately wrote B164 and draw a heart on the paper and displayed it to the screen. And we had a beautiful picture. Our other facilitator ma’am Rabeea was not present in the last session and I missed her so much as she is so motivating. She can't be seen in the picture but she was in our hearts.

In short, this whole 3 months journey seems like it flew in no time. The lessons like growth mindset, life long learner, teamwork, compassion, constructive feedback, khudi, amal, kam kam kam, gratitude, and time management techniques will always be helpful for me as they were in these past months. The professional developmental skills learned from this fellowship like showing passion, speaking with confidence, leadership without authority, networking and ultimately giving job-winning interview is helping me in my present days as I have started an internship in Center of Excellence in Molecular Biology.

In the end, I just want to Thanks Amal for giving me the confidence to trust myself, to taught me to work in teams, and for everything I learned so far from this fellowship. I am thankful to my facilitators for being amazing throughout the journey, for being so much appreciative and helping. This is a formal goodbye but people and lessons will be in my heart forever and I will keep in contact with these amazing people through social media.

Kind regards:

Sana Tahir

Batch #164
